Stablished in 1978 Protecna is a company with more than 45 years of experience in engineering design and providing engineering consultancy services.
Since its foundation It has designed several public and private construction projects such as roads and bridges, water and wastewater systems and both residential and non-residential buildings.
In 2006, Protecna started to offer integrated project management solutions throughout all phases of a construction project, such as construction quality control and health and safety management.
In 2018 and following the commemoration of the 40 years of activity, Protecna maintains its demand for innovation and offers differentiating services for its clients, in addition to renewing its entire institutional image, Protecna has developed a project management app that allows real-time interaction between clients and their projects and / or works.

Graduated in 2000 from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Master in Structures (2005) and PhD in Civil Engineering (2016) from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), António has a vast experience in project design and coordination, having been awarded the title of Specialist in Structures of the Order of Engineers.
His career as a structural designer began at AfaConsult as part of the Braga Stadium project team.
In 2006 he took over the management and technical coordination of Protecna - Consultores de Engenharia.
He was Invited Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Algarve 2003 and 2019, where he taught curricular units related to building technology, construction processes and special structures (bridges and viaducts).
